Lawrence DiCristina, 60, of Annadale, who worked in his family's restaurant business and doted on his grandchildren, died Friday in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince's Bay.
Born and raised in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, he went to school in his native borough.
Mr. DiCristina moved to Annadale in 1998.
He worked at his family's Brooklyn restaurant, the Chat-a-Way, for many years. He had stopped working due to illness.
Mr. DiCristina enjoyed watching horse racing and football. He also loved using his computer.
He cherished time spent with his mother and his family, and especially enjoyed fishing and crabbing with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughters, Darlene Vasquez and Stephanie DiCristina; his son, Lawrence Jr.; his mother, Ida DiCristina; a brother, Paul, and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Chuch, both in Tottenville. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
