Kostas Sarantos, 74
Longtime Tottenville resident, 'beloved Pappou'
Kostas Sarantos, 74, passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2018.
Kostas was born in Agios Petros, Greece, then moved to Tottenville, where he lived for 44 years. He was a painter for the NYC Department of Transportation, retiring in 2006. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
Kostas was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his family. He was known as Beloved Pappou.
He is survived by his wife, Eleni; his children, Peter (Piera) and Maria; his siblings, George Sarantos and Aphrodite Naftis, and his grandchildren, Meleni and Olivia.
Funeral is from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Friday at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass is at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
