Kathleen Deignan

Kathleen Deignan, 80, of Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025. She worked as an executive secretary and paralegal for ten years in the office of Senator John J. Marchi and then spent seventeen years in the same capacity at Staten Island University Hospital.

Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Leo Sr. and Anne Deignan, as well as her brothers Leo Jr. and Thomas, and her sisters Anne Marie O’Keefe, Alice Mason, and Bernadette Deignan-Monico. She was the former wife of Louis J. Gioello.

She is survived by her son Christopher Gioello, her daughter-in-law Jodi Gioello, and her grandchildren Christopher, Emma, and John Gioello.

Kathleen was a thoughtful detailed gift giver and loved to celebrate St Patrick's day with the Murphy's and friends. She served as a eucharistic minister for many years and served at food pantries.

For the past 34 years, Kathleen has been supported and inspired by many amazing people who became like family to her. She dedicated her life to writing greeting cards & encouraging this life-giving group, who held incredible value in her heart and their community.

Kathleen has been a friend of Bill since 1991.
