Josephine Imsho, 87, of Tottenville, a homemaker who loved entertaining her family and friends and who is remembered as a wonderful mother, died Saturday at home.

Born and raised Josephine Skinder in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, she graduated from high school in her native borough. She moved to Tottenville in 1947.

Mrs. Imsho worked for the former Bell Telephone for 10 years. She left the work force to care for her family and home.

She was fond of gardening and was a very good cook and baker. She was an accomplished needlecrafter and sewed, crocheted and knitted clothing and other items for her family. And she had enjoyed playing cards with her sisters in earlier years.

Mrs. Imsho was very sociable and friendly, and especially loved entertaining her family and friends.

She was a great mother, said her daughter, Christine Valcich. And she was always willing to help.

Mrs. Imsho was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.

Her husband of 39 years, Edwin, died in 1989.

Surviving, along with her daughter, Christine, are her son, Robert; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
