Inspiration for Piazza's Ice Cream and Ice House
Joseph C. Piazza, 94, passed away on June 15, 2018, in Staten Island University Hospital South. He was born in Argento, Italy, moved to Brooklyn in 1953, and then to Staten island in 1997.
When in Italy, he was a butcher. When he moved to America, he became a businessman. Joseph was the inspiration for Piazza's Ice Cream and Ice House, Inc. on Housman Ave. in Staten Island. He loved Padre Pio, and especially loved spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lucy. He is survived by his sons, Salvatore (Tricia), Vincent (Renee), and Peter, his sister, Stefanie Piazza, and his grandchildren, Olivia, George, Danielle, Gina Marie, Candice, and Joseph.
Funeral from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Friday at 8:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial is at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends may visit Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
