Joseph Gatto

Joseph S. Gatto, born November 24, 1941, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2022. Joseph was born in Brooklyn and worked for 27 years as a loan officer at Chemical Bank. He eventually moved on to work in construction, which was his long life passion. He was a 3rd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus as well as an auxiliary fireman. He also volunteered at Bensonhurst Volunteer Ambulance Service, which is where he met his wife Josephine in 1987. The couple moved from Brooklyn to Staten Island in 2002 and settled on the South Shore.

Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, watching wrestling and of course DIY. Christmas was his favorite holiday and there were never too many lights.

Joseph is survived by his wife Josephine; his children Elaina, Ben (Suzanne), Kelly (Sam), and Dawn (Thomas); and grandchildren Brittany, Ryan, Maria, Nicole, Sabrina, Samantha, William, Julia, and Christina.
