John H. Murphy Jr.

John H. Murphy, Jr. passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 9, 2023. John was born in Brooklyn, New York to John and Muriel Murphy (nee Crawford). He served in the United States Navy, and became a member of the School Safety Division of the NYPD.

John was a devoted member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. One of his favorite things to do was play Santa Claus during the holidays. He played Santa so well.  John was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace my love.

Family and Friends may visit on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, located at 7447 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10307. There will be a prayer service that same night at 8:30pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 10:00 Am at Messiah Lutheran Church located at 205 Jefferson Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. There will be a cremation to follow the funeral mass.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in John's name can be made to Messiah Lutheran Church.
