John Holder

John Wood Holder, 74, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2021.  John was a lifelong Staten Islander. He  was a  NYC Transit bus driver for twenty seven years. After retiring from the NYC Transit Authority, he drove a school bus for the Pioneer Bus Company for ten years. John enjoyed cruises and travelling especially to Atlantic City.  He loved to fish and he enjoyed boating.  He was an avid New York Yankee and New York Giants fan.

John most loved to be around his grandchildren and loved swimming with his younger grandchildren in their pool.  He also loved to play cards with family and friends.  He enjoyed riding his bicycle by the beach on Staten Island and enjoyed exercising  at the gym.

John was a friendly, quiet guy and was liked by all who met him.

John was pre-deceased by his son, John. W. Holder,Jr.

John is survived by his loving wife, Maria, his loving children, Michelle Lombardi and Michael Holder and by four grandchildren.
