John J. Bonvicino, 92, died peacefully at home on September 21, 2016. He was born in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island 49 years ago. John was a mechanic for the NYC Transit Authority, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. John served during WW II as a Private 1st Classin Squadron G 137th Army Air Force Base Unit. He was an airplane and engine mechanic. He received the American Service medal and WW II Victory medal.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Eva(Coticchio) Bonvicino, his sisters, Victoria Bonvicino and Jean Heineman and his grandchildren, Michael and Mark Bessau (2014)
His wife Carmela passed away in 2001.
He issurvived by his children, John L. Bonvicino and Donna Gallo, his siblings, Paul Bonvicino and Florence Forcenito, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
