JoAnn Guastafeste

May 18, 1948 — May 11, 2024

Jo Ann Guastafeste, born Jo Ann De Fino in Brooklyn, New York on May 18, 1948, passed away on May 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her home on Staten Island, New York.

JoAnn was a vibrant and beloved woman full of energy and spirit, known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness. Growing up in Brooklyn, she developed a deep love for family, friends, and the simple pleasures of life.

After marrying Joseph Guastafeste, Jo Ann dedicated herself to raising their two children with boundless love and devotion. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of her delicious Italian cooking.

JoAnn had a passion for nurturing others and spent many years working as an office manager for a reputable and highly respected Brooklyn, New York Doctor. She had a gift for listening and offering comfort, making everyone feel valued and supported.

In addition to her nurturing spirit, Jo Ann was known for her adventurous streak and love of Elvis Presley. Jo Ann was an ardent Elvis Presley super fan, whose love for the King of Rock 'n' Roll knew no bounds. From her teenage years in Brooklyn to her later years on Staten Island, Elvis's music was a constant source of joy and inspiration in Jo Ann's life. She could often be found singing along to his hits, with an impressive collection of memorabilia proudly displayed in her home.

Even during her toughest moments, Jo Ann found solace in Elvis's music. Despite battling illness, she would find the strength to dance and sing along to his songs from her bed, her spirit undiminished by her physical challenges. Elvis's music provided her with comfort, strength, and a sense of connection to something greater than herself.

A lifelong learner, Jo Ann was always eager to expand her horizons and engage in meaningful conversations. She had a curious mind and a thirst for knowledge that inspired those around her. Jo Ann was not only known for her nurturing spirit and love for Elvis Presley but also for her remarkable mechanical prowess and handy skills around the house. She had a natural talent for fixing things, whether it was repairing cars, tackling plumbing issues, rewiring electrical circuits, or adding a fresh coat of paint to brighten up a room. Her hands-on approach and attention to detail made her the go-to person for any household project or repair.

Jo Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and generosity that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Guastafeste, her loving children, Joseph (Melissa), Paul (Elizabeth), and her cherished grandchildren, Paul, Liliana, Olivia, Julie and Joseph and a host of family members and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
