Joan Wegener

Joan Constance Wegener (Bischoff) was born in Staten Island on April 5th 1933, the eldest daughter of John and Mathilde Bischoff.  She was greeted in heaven on April 10th by her loving husband of 55 years, Ralph Wegener, her sister Emma Toth and her parents. 

She was an active member of St Mark’s United Methodist Church, the Girl Scouts of America, the South Shore Swim Club, and the Staten Island community. She loved spending time with her family and friends, watching sunsets, and campfires in Sundown NY.  She never missed an event celebrating her family members or an opportunity to make them a cup of tea. 

She is survived by her 3 children, Susan Hansen (Leif), Cheryl Monahan, and Gary Wegener (Jill), 7 grandchildren, Kristen Harring (Chris), Kevin and Kerri Monahan, Glen Hansen, Nicholas, Daniel and Gary John Wegener, two great grandchildren Jameson and Emily Harring, sisters Gloria Shaw and Gail Fries, and many neices, nephews and friends. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
