Jessie Veronica McCann, 88, of Richmond Valley, a former secretary and devoted mother and grandmother, died Tuesday at home.
Born Jessie Wilson in Union City, N.J., she moved to Brooklyn after her marriage. She settled in Richmond Valley in 1959.
Mrs. McCann worked for several years as a secretary for the International Nickel Company in Manhattan before becoming a homemaker.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading and was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.
Her son, Edward Jr., died in 1951.
Her husband, Edward John, died in 2011.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Graves and Diane Edgeworth; a brother, Joseph Wilson; a sister, Marie Geiler, and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
