Jeanette Cafaro-Utt
5/1/43 - 1/17/24
On Wednesday, January 17, 2024 we had to say goodbye to our beloved Wife, Mother, Nanny & Friend.
Born Jeanette Theresa McDonnell
A lifelong Staten Islander, Jeanette loved spending time with family & friends. She enjoyed life and making memories for others as a bartender for over 40 years. She made life-long friends working at establishments such as Russo's, The Clubhouse, Kelly's Pub and Memories where she enjoyed fund-raising for those in need. Ever the witty party planner, Jeanette was never short on ideas for throwing crazy themed parties bringing everyone together for a night of great fun. She was known as 'Jet' to many who remember her sharp sense of humor and compassionate ear across the bar. After her final 'Last Call' behind the bar Jeanette helped to inspire and build her husband Loren's singing career where she managed his promotions and bookings throughout the tri-state area.
It was at Kelly's Pub where Jeanette met her soulmate Loren. Before long Jeanette welcomed Loren into her family of many. She truly cherished this devoted man who upon first meeting her proclaimed "I am going to marry that woman!" The two became one, and soon there would be no more Jeanette or Loren...it would always be Jeanette and Loren. Marrying 13 years later-they spent the last 33 years together socializing with cherished friends, traveling and sharing a love of music.
As the Matriarch of her family, Jeanette was a force of strength, independence, compassion, and wit. A hard worker who raised her three children Tracey, Jammie and Shane with pride, instilling in them a strong work ethic and the value of family ties.
Jeanette was known to be stubborn, opinionated and spirited. She possessed very few unspoken thoughts! Jeanette also had the biggest heart and was always there when someone needed her. An avid gardener, she loved flowers and her varied backyard gardens. She had a special affection for dogs, birds and horses. She was also know for her sense of fashion and style.
Although Jeanette cared deeply for her friends it was her family that always came first. She is survived by her doting husband: Loren Utt; brother Jay McDonnell: children: Tracey (Ed) Birmingham, Jammie Cafaro (Chris), Shane (Tricia) Cafaro, and Kris Utt; her adoring grandchildren Amber, Anton, Shane JR, Cody, Taylor and Paige; precious great grandchildren Anton Jr., Brandon, Sophia, Ava and another on the way
Jeanette was predeceased by her parents Florence and Eugene McDonnell: brothers Patty and Kingston (Dean)
