Janice Helene Posillipo, passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2023 with her family.
She was born in Staten Island, New York on May 21, 1943 and resided in Fords, New Jersey. Prior to settling in Fords, NJ, she lived in Little Egg Harbor New Jersey after relocating from Staten Island, New York.
She was a graduate of Curtis High School in Staten Island and worked as a bank teller in Manhattan for several years before starting a family. She was a homemaker and doted on her husband and children. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Helena Van Hecke, her brother William Van Hecke and her sister Helen Lombardo, brother-in-law, John Lombardo and son in law, Daniel O'Neil. Janice is survived by her husband, Louis Posillipo, her son Dominick Posillipo, her daughters, Jane Luria and her husband Stephen, Jr, and Janice O'Neil, her five grandchildren, Courtney, Emma, Danielle, Kelly and Robert (Bobby), her sister Doris Wilgus. She was a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed providing a beautiful home for her family, boat rides with her husband and friends and hosting endless weekends at her shore house in New Jersey, where there was always a full house of children, grandchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed shopping, bide riding, decorating her homes, singing country songs, especially Country Roads by John Denver and dancing. While working in Manhattan, she waited on John Glen, who asked her if she wanted to go to the moon, where she politely declined. She loved her home in the Poconos where she enjoyed watching her children ski, swim, horse back ride and make lifelong friendships. She enjoyed New Year's Eve Parties at the clubhouse with great friends. She always spoke about her Acapulco, Mexico vacation with her best friends Kathy and Matty. She was involved with the PTA at PS 52 where her children attended. She loved animals and was loving and kind. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York 10307 on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10:00AM officiated by Artem Titov, a friend and mentor to her grandson Robert O'Neil.
Burial will follow at Ocean View – The Cemetery Beautiful on Staten Island.
