Janet DiClerico, 72, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 21, 2019, following a difficult illness.
Janet was a native Staten Islander, born on December 14, 1947 in Arrochar, to Nicholas and Gladys DiStefano. After graduating from New Dorp High School, Janet worked at INA as a secretary, and then department manager until becoming a homemaker after the birth of her first child.
Janet married Camillo DiClerico of New Brighton in 1971. They had a loving marriage, and raised 3 children together in their home of over 40 years in Prince's Bay.
Janet was loving, kind, empathetic, generous and creative. She spent much of her time volunteering at her children's schools and her parish, St. Joseph St. Thomas. She was skilled at sewing, and in her younger years made beautiful clothing and costumes for her children. Family was everything to her. Janet enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and learning about history and antiques.
Janet is survived by her husband of 48 years, Camillo, her children: Christopher DiClerico, Valerie DiClerico and Lisa DiClerico, her son-in-law Alex Schindler and her brother Steven DiStefano.
