James Loeffel

James A. Loeffel, 67, passed away on November 6th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at Staten Island University Hospital. He was born in Colorado Springs to Lupe and Walter Loeffel on May 27, 1952. James continued to live in Staten Island for most of his life, while owning a local record store in the 1980's. He was a loving family man who worked hard all of his life. He was an athlete and accomplished anything he put his mind to. James married his wife of 43 years on January 7, 1976. He was a proud employee of the NYC DEP for 26 years and retired in 2002. He enjoyed watching sports, doing yard work, listening to music, exercising and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren who were his entire world. He is survived by his loving wife; Mary Anne, daughters; Lois and Bridgette, son-in-laws; Vincent and Thomas, and three grandchildren; Alexa, Carla, and Vincent James. Funeral from Bedell - Pizzo Funeral Home, Monday 9:15 am Memorial Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea at 10 am, followed by a burial of ashes at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday 2-4, 7-9.
