James J. Larkin, 76 of Barnegat, N.J., passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 in his New Jersey home.
Born in New York to the late Patrick and Esther Larkin. Jim attended the New York School of Printing and was known for the being the fastest typesetter in the school's history. After graduating, Jim went onto a long year career as a printer in NY. Retiring in 2004, Jim settled in Barnegat, NJ with his wife Patricia.
Jim met his loving wife Patricia and married in 1963. In 1988 they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was devoted to his family. He loved to go visit them in Staten Island and he enjoyed when his grandkids came to visit him more than anything. Jim was tremendously proud of his grandchildren. He enjoyed talking about them and most of all spending time with them. His hobbies were surfing the internet, acquiring and learning the latest technology, watching his Mets games, showing everyone all of his interesting electronics and gadgets, playing cards and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife Patricia, his three children Michael and his Fiancé Marsha, Christopher and his wife Rosa, Colleen and her husband Frank; four grandchildren, Vanessa Larkin, Jason Larkin, Nicholas Russo, and Jaclyn Russo, his sister Patricia and his brother Thomas.
Funeral Arrangements will be at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home in Tottenville, Staten Island. Visitations are Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 and Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9. Mass will be held Friday 9:30 am at St. Thomas Church 6097 Amboy Road Staten Island, NY.
