Irene Auffredou

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Irene G. Auffredou 80, a native Staten Islander, died Sunday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.

Born in Great Kills, Mrs. Auffredou moved to Richmond Valley, where she lived for 57 years.

A homemaker, she attended Tottenville High School. Mrs. Auffredou enjoyed crocheting and trips to Atlantic City. She also was a fan of game shows and soaps.

She was a parishioner at Bethel United Methodist Church, Tottenville.

Above all, she was a devoted grandmother to her 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her husband of 63 years, John Affredou, died in October of 2010.

Surviving are a son, John Jr., four daughters, Linda Clarke, Nancy Giaccone, Irene McMinn, and Gloria Malchiod and a brother, William Rudolph.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, also Tottenville.
