STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Longtime Huguenot resident Howard E. Mullin, 76, a retired P&G worker and a loving family man, died Saturday in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince's Bay.
Mr. Mullin was born in Jersey City and moved with his family to Port Richmond when he was a few months old. He graduated from Port Richmond High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Korea.
After he and his sweetheart, Theresa Floccari, wed in 1958, the couple settled in Huguenot.
Mr. Mullin worked for Procter & Gamble at its former plant in Port Ivory. He retired in 1991.
He enjoyed gardening, visits to Atlantic City and Las Vegas, being with his family and spending time with his retired work friends at the Port Ivory Retirees Club.
Mr. Mullin was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot.
Along with Theresa, his wife of 55 years, surviving are his sons, Howard R. and Kenneth J.; his daughter, Linda; three sisters, Charolette Lankford, Beverly Donnelly, and Connie Conti, and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
