STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Remembered for her devotion to family and love of ballroom dancing, Helen Nagy, 80, a Prince's Bay resident for 75 years, died �Wednesday at home.
Born Helen DeFusco in Jersey City, she was brought to Staten Island at the tender age of 5, and her family settled in Prince's Bay.
She graduated from Tottenville High School in 1949, and earned a bachelor's degree in education from the College of Staten Island in 1992.
Mrs. Nagy, who valued education, was employed as a computer programmer at Tottenville High School for 33 years, and retired in 2005.
Family was her first priority, said her daughter, Joann Glembocki. She had a large circle of friends, and always demonstrated kindness and respect toward everyone she interacted with.
She enjoyed sewing and cooking, and ballroom dancing was her passion, added her daughter. She was a wonderful dancer.
Mrs. Nagy was a member of the Tottenville High School PTA for 14 years, and a longtime member of St. Joseph-St. Thomas R.C. Parish in Pleasant Plains
