Former Staten Islander Gloria B. Gatti, 85, of Skillman, N.J., a retired banking executive who will be remembered for her warm personality and dedication to her children, died Sunday at home.

Born Gloria Bonamo, she graduated from New Utrecht High School in her native borough.

Mrs. Gatti moved to Bay Terrace in 1965, and to Shore Acres in 2000. She relocated to Trumbull, Conn., in 2005, and settled in Skillman in 2013.

She worked for 18 years as a private banking manager for Citibank in Brooklyn, until retiring in 1995.

In Trumbull, she belonged to the Women's Club and Long Hill Garden Club. While living on the Island, she was a member, past president and former state delegate of the Dongan Hills AARP, and a member of the Richmond Ever-Green Garden Club.

Mrs. Gatti was an avid reader, enjoyed solving The New York Times crossword puzzle, loved gardening and was a loyal New York Yankees fan.

Warm and outgoing, she also was a strong woman with an independent spirit and an inspiration to those she loved, family said. She cherished her family and enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren, as well as her nieces, nephews and extended family, they added.

Mrs. Gatti was a parishioner of Christ the King R.C. Church, Trumbull, and a former parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Rosebank, and St. Charles R.C. Church, Oakwood, where she belonged to the travel and leisure clubs.

Gabriel J., her husband of 12 years, died in 1965.

Surviving are her sons, John and Nicholas; her daughters, MaryAnn Chapman and Annette Wolson; her brother, Nicholas J. Bonamo; her sister, MaryAnn Calabrese, and eight grandchildren.
