Giuseppa Geloso, 76, of Tottenville, a retired seamstress who will be remembered for her generosity and selflessness, died Tuesday in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Manhattan.
Born Giuseppa Basile in Carini, Italy, she immigrated to the United States in 1968, moving to Brooklyn. She settled in Tottenville in 2004.
Mrs. Geloso worked as seamstress, until retiring in 2004.
She was a doting grandmother, who loved to cook and create special Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing clothes for her family.
Mrs. Geloso spent her life making others happy and wished for peace for all her loved ones lives, family said.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Giuseppe; her son, Giacomo; her daughter, Loredana Skirde, and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Help of Christians Church. Entombment will follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn.
