George Lies “Curious George” was born on September 30, 1957. He passed away on April 25, 2021 at the age of 63 years old. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and then he moved to Richmond Town when he was 15 years old where he met the love of his life. He is survived by his loving wife Cherrie Lies who he was happily married to for 42 years and they raised their family in Tottenville. He leaves behind two children, his son, Stefan Lies and his wife Melissa Lies along with his daughter, Briana Lies- Moskover and her husband Peter Moskover, as well as his late daughter,Shannon. As a loving grandfather he leaves behind his four beautiful granddaughters, Gianna, Olivia, Giulianna and Valentina. He was a loving father, brother, cousin, uncle, grandfather and friend to many.
He worked for the MTA for 25 years and just recently retired in 2019. He was a one-of-a-kind genuine man who’s smile lit up an entire room. He left a lasting impression on anyone he had an encounter with. His contagious smile and laugh will forever leave a lasting impression on everyone that he met. He enjoyed music, sports, (especially the Giants, Mets & Rangers) fishing, boating and a good time.
