STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- George Cardile, 75, of Annadale, a retired school bus driver who was warm and personable, died Saturday in Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Castleton Corners, where he resided for two months.
Mr. Cardile was born and raised in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn and graduated from Fort Hamilton High School. He also attended Brooklyn College.
He settled in Annadale in 1985.
Prior to working at Island Charter as driver for 14 years, Mr. Cradle was a self-employed businessman.
He enjoyed reading, watching classic movies and travel. He also enjoyed swimming in his pool and going to the beach.
In addition, he loved spending time with family and friends, especially during the holidays. His son was his pride and joy, family said.
He had a great sense of humor and was a big jokester, his family said. He loved to laugh and to make other people laugh, they added.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia, and his son, Jordan.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. John Neumann R.C. Church, Greenridge. Arrangements, including cremation, are being handled by the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville.
