George C. Aaman Jr., 78, of Tottenville, died on Dec. 3, 2016, of natural causes, at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home.
George was born in Brooklyn, then moved to Staten Island, where he lived for 50 years. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and later attended NYC Community College.
George worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He attended St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Tottenville.
George was a member of Huguenot Masonic Lodge No. 381, Huguenot Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 88, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, The American Legion Beavais Hudson Post No. 126, and Salaam Shriners.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. George especially loved sitting outside feeding the birds and squirrels and talking with his neighbors. He was an avid New York sports fan.
He was a huge trivia buff and enjoyed creating puzzles, which he would hand out to anyone who crossed his path.
George was married 48 years to his late wife, Nancy Ruth Holm Aaman, who died in May 2012.
He is survived by his sons, Kris, Kyle, Kurt (Veronica); daughters, Kari Streeter (Steven) and Kim O'Brien (Robert); brother-in-law, Richard Holm and his wife, Lynn. He had five grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
Friends may visit at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with an 8 p.m. service. Interment will take place Wednesday morning at CloverLeaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge, N.J.
