Frederick Anthony Tarrazi

Fred Tarrazi, 77, a retired NYPD 2ndGrade Detective from the Intelligence Division and a United States Army Veteran.
Fred Tarrazi was born on May 26,1940, to the late Anthony & Josephine Tarrazi in Brooklyn, New York. He was the second of five children, Barbara Hamrah, George Tarrazi, Brenda Lucente, & Greg Tarrazi.
He attended Ft. Hamilton High School and graduated in1958. He also attended St. Francis College and John Jay College. In 1965 he married his wife of 52 years Celeste Maresca. Fred and Celeste had two daughters together, Janine Parrella and Tara Mahoney. In 1973, he moved to Princes Bay ,Staten Island. Fred was a wonderful husband and incredible father and grandfather (Giddo) to his triplets Ryan, Jacquelyn & Corrin Mahoney. Fred enjoyed traveling with his wife. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Fred will also be remembered by many Nieces & Nephews.
Fred joined the NYPD in 1967, where he served for 24 years and rose to the rank of 2ndGrade Detective in the Intelligence Division where he handled many complex investigations.
Fred was also involved in many organizations such as the Knights of Columbus & The Holy Name Men's Club at St. Joseph - St. Thomas parish.
Funeral from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Saturday at 9:45AM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church at 10:30AM. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM
