Frank H. Benham, 89, of Westerleigh, a retired manager who was devoted to his family and his faith, died Saturday in the Staten Island University Hospital, in Prince's Bay.

Born in Brownwood, Texas, he grew up in New Mexico. He moved to Oregon in 1946 and Brooklyn in 1971, then settled in Westerleigh in 1982.

Mr. Benham served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He retired in 2010 as the manager of Eastern Realty Corp. Garden Apartments in Westerleigh, a position he had held for 28 years. Prior to that, he managed Independent Garden Apartments, Brooklyn, for 11 years.

He was loved by all and was always on hand to care for the needs of the tenants, no matter how small, and any time of the day or night greeted everyone with a smile and a Texan drawl, his family said.

Mr. Benham loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He attended the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Mariners Harbor.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, the former Beth Danley; his daughters, Monica Benham and Beverly Gammarano; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, handled arrangements, including cremation.
