Francis Nagrowski, 69, formerly of Annadale, died Saturday in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem Pa.
Born in Brooklyn's Park Slope section, he attended John Jay High School in the borough. In 1990, he and his wife, the former Carol Kearns, moved across the Narrows. In 2004, the couple relocated to Forks Township, in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley region.
Mr. Nagrowski worked as a welder for the New York Power Authority for several years before his retirement in 2004.
He and his wife were members of the 55 & Over Club, where he enjoyed playing pool, bocce, table tennis and shuffleboard, as well as taking trips to Pennsylvania casinos. His favorite hobby was building whirligig models.
Mr. Nagrowski served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964.
While living on Staten Island, he was a parishioner of St. John Neumann R.C. Church, Greenridge.
In addition to Carol, his wife of 23 years, Mr. Nagrowski is survived by his sons, Wayne and Frankie; his daughter, Leann; his brother, Richard; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains, in the section reserved for veterans of the armed forces.
