Frances Biel

Frances Elizabeth (Pascovitz) Biel, 98, died peacefully at home.
Born in Sharpsville, Pa., Frances graduated from Sharpsville High. She worked as a floor walker for Murphy's 5 &10 cent store, where she met her husband, Sgt. William Biel, who was stationed at Camp Reynolds. They were married in June of 1943 and move to Staten Island after his discharge.
She worked at S.S. White Dental in Princes Bay and helped with the grocery store Biel's Deli in Pleasant Plains. She also worked for 19 1/2 years as a child care aid at Mount Loretto until she retired. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and going to Atlantic City.
She was a parishener of St. Thomas St. Joseph R.C. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Rodney, three brothers and four sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Rice; son, Jeffrey and his wife, Jane Biel; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Staten Island University Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
Funeral is from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home Friday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church. Followed by a private cremation
