Dearest grandfather who fought in Battle of the Bulge
Eugene George Gagliardi, 92, passed away on Jan. 22, 2018.
He was married for 66 years to his loving wife, Eleanor Fasano Gagliardi, whom he lost on Jan. 23, 2015. As well as being a loving husband, he was a loving father to his daughter, Lorraine Pszczola, and son, Eugene, Jr. He was loved dearly by his twin grandsons, Michael and Christopher Pszczola. His grandsons cherished their grandfather, who introduced them to golf when they were only 10 years old. He was the great-grandfather to Christopher's three beautiful babies, Justin, Leah, and Jason.
Eugene served his country in the Army as a tank crewman. He fought in World War II, and was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. He was honored in 2013 with the Bronze Service Star, World War II Victory Medal, and Ribbon.
He was nicknamed Eggie, for his initials (EGG), by his grandsons many years ago. Eggie will be forever loved by his family and friends, and will always live on in their hearts.
The funeral is from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial is at Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday and Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
