Erna Fridriksson, 76, a Prince's Bay resident who enjoyed spending time with her family, died Wednesday at home.
Born Erna Thordarsdottir in Reykjavik, Iceland, she moved to Manhattan in 1958; Brooklyn in 1963; Willowbrook in 1969, and Prince's Bay in the 1980s.
A homemaker, she also worked as a seamstress in her youth and then as a bookkeeper for the family business, retiring in 2000.
She attended the College of Staten Island after graduating from a high school in Iceland.
Mrs. Fridriksson was known for her Christmas cookies, and she liked doing needlepoint, knitting and shopping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Haddi; a son, Fridrik; three daughters, Sigrun Larstanna, Helga Rice and Una Mastrianni, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Methodist Church, Tottenville. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
