Elyse Lopez

Elyse Marie Lopez, 28, a direct care supervisor who is remembered as a loving mother, died Sunday in Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton.

Born in Grasmere, she grew up in Woodrow. In 2013, she relocated to Bluffton, S.C.

She graduated from the former St. Peter's Girls High School, New Brighton.

Ms. Lopez worked as a medical assistant at Victory Internal Medicine in Willowbrook. She later worked for two years as a direct care supervisor at On Your Mark in West Brighton.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Julia Burdsall.

Also surviving are her mother, Kathy Lopez; her father and stepmother, Douglas and Lori Ann Lopez; two brothers, Doug and Kevin; four sisters, Corrine, Amanda, and Rachel Lopez and Galina Shvarts, and her grandfathers, Walter Plunkett and Clarence Lopez.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, both in Tottenville. Arrangements include cremation.
