Dorothy E. "Dot" Julian
Dorothy E. "Dot" Julian, a beloved member of the Tottenville community in Staten Island, passed away on April 29, 2024, at the age of 67 at home surrounded by loved ones. Dot was a native Staten Islander and a prominent figure in the Maritime Towing Industry. As the President of Henry Marine Service Inc., a tugboat company she co-founded with her ex-husband Bob Henry, Dot navigated the challenges of a male-dominated industry with fierce determination and competitiveness.
Family was at the core of Dot's life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her children Robert (Jennifer) Henry, Shelby Rose Henry, and Rachel Marie Henry, as well as her siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of family and friends. Dot's memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
In her leisure time, Dot enjoyed being a "Snow bird" in the Florida Keys, basking in the sun and ocean for half of the year. However, her most cherished moments were spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.
Services to honor and remember Dot will be held on Sunday, May 5th, and Monday, May 6th, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home. A Mass will take place on Tuesday, May 7th, at 9:30 am at the Church of Saint Thomas, located at 6097 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY 10309.
