50 year Staten Island resident, devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather Donald J. Verteramo Sr. unexpectedly passed away in his home Sunday, September 23rd, 2018. A retired Stationary Engineer, he is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sheila (Bockowski) Verteramo, children Denise Esposito, Donald J. Verteramo Jr. and Daniel J. Verteramo. Grandchildren Ava & Andrea Esposito and Olivia, Enzo and Lola Verteramo, son-in-law Joseph Esposito and daughter-in-law Kate Verteramo. Born July 13th, 1946 in Brooklyn NY and a graduate of Rice Catholic H.S. in NYC, he was an avid boater, fisherman and fixer of all things broken. Donald served as Treasurer for the Staten Island Sail & Power Squadron for 16 years and was a member of the Great Kills Yacht Club. This wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, neighbor and friend will be missed.
Funeral from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Friday at 9:30AM. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church at 10:00AM. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends may visit Wednesday from 7-9PM and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
