Donald Skip MacDonald, 65, of Tottenville, N.Y., passed away on Feb. 27, 2016, at Staten Island Hospital South.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Tottenville at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Visiting was held on Monday and Tuesday at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville.
Born in Staten Island, Skip attended Tottenville High School, graduating in 1968. He played for the Plainsmen football team.
Skip had lived in Tottenville for 61 years. He was a foreman for the New York City Dept. of Sanitation, West Shore Garage, for 28 years before retiring in 2012.
His hobbies included golfing, bowling, and softball. He loved spending time with his two granddaughters and enjoyed going to Atlantic City.
Skip is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary MacDonald. He is survived by his son, Brian MacDonald; daughter, Jill Cook and son-in-law, Steven Cook, and brothers, Thomas MacDonald and Ronnie MacDonald. He was the grandfather of two.

ll:00 AM Mas of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 2,2016 at Our Lady Help of Christian's R.C.Church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation:
Monday February 29, 2016 and Tuesday March 1,2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM
