STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Dolores B. Corapi, 83, a retired Board of Education employee who loved to write poetry, died March 2 at the Staten Island Care Center, New Brighton, where she had been a resident for the past four years.
Born Dolores Cicchese in Rosebank, she moved to Eltingville in the 1950s.
Mrs. Corapi was a retired food service worker for the city Board of Education.
She wrote many poems, and her family was most proud of one titled, "A Celebration of Poets," which was published in, "The Poetry Guild Anthology Book."
She also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, trips to Atlantic City, and listening to the music of the Bee Gees.
Mrs. Corapi was a parishioner of Holy Child R.C. Church, Eltingville.
Her daughter, Janet Corapi, died in 1992.
Surviving are her husband of more than 50 years, Enrico; a daughter, Judith Ashton; a sister, Margaret Costanzo; two granddaughters, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements, which included cremation, were handled by the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville.
