Lifelong Staten Islander Debbie Lynn Watson, 54, of Tottenville, a retired dental hygienist who loved animals and music, died Thursday of throat cancer in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince's Bay.

She was born in Prince's Bay and lived in Tottenville for the rest of her life.

After graduating from Tottenville High School, she worked as a dental assistant until her retirement in 1988.

Ms. Watson was very fond of animals and had a pet cat for some time.

She also enjoyed listening to music.

She attended St. Paul's Methodist Church, Tottenville.

Surviving are her longtime companion, Kenny Soloman, and her brother, Ken Watson.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Arrangements, include cremation.
