STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - David Salvatore Stagno II, 27, of Great Kills, died Thursday at home.
Born in Great Kills, he was a co-founder and operator with his father of the King David Dinettes shop in Charleston.
Mr. Stagno attended Five Towns Music College, and he was a graduate of Monsignor Farrell High School, Oakwood.
For three years, he was a carrier for the Advance.
Mr. Stagno enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and arranging and composing music.
At the age of seven, Mr. Stagno won a state black belt championship.
He was a member of the South Baptist Church, Tottenville, where his father, the Rev. Dr. Raymond Stagno, is a pastor.
"He was a tender-hearted son, and he often said how blessed he was to have four older sisters," said his mother, Mary Jean. "And he would not have wanted it any other way."
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Rosemarie West, Marjorie Stagno, Christina Stagno and Maria Wink Worth, and his grandfather, Frank Agugliaro.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
