Cecilia Oliva

Cecilia Oliva, 81, passed away on September 19, 2023 at Staten Island University Hospital-North, surrounded by her loving family. Cecilia was born in Brooklyn to David and Winifred Newell.  She received her high school degree from Catherine McAuley HS -Class of 1960.  She then moved to Richmond Valley in Staten Island and lived here for forty nine years.

Cecilia was a homemaker and loved to cook.  She could make delicious last minute meals and desserts with whatever she had in her pantry.  She enjoyed crocheting, which was something that her granddaughter taught her, playing online games and she especially loved watching each of her seven grandchildren grow up.  She was also a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christian's Church for many years.

Cecilia was pre-deceased by her husband of fifty nine years, Frank, in September 2022.   She is survived by her children, James Oliva, David Oliva, and Suzann Gorman; her brother, David Newell and seven grandchildren.
