STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Carol F. Johnson, 68, of Prince's Bay, a retired public health adviser who loved conversations with friends and family, died Sunday in Richmond University Medical Center, in West Brighton.
Born Carol Ciccolo in the Bronx, she was brought to Great Kills when she was 14 and graduated from New Dorp High School in 1961. She moved to Tottenville in the 1960s, and lived there until settling in Prince's Bay in 2005.
Mrs. Johnson worked as a public health adviser for the city Health Department. She retire in the early 2000s.
She loved entertaining her family and friends. A skilled baker, she delighted in making special cakes, shaped like Barbie and other subjects they enjoyed, for her family. She also enjoyed making bows and baskets, and crocheting.
An avid Staten Island Advance wordsearch player, she had won the newspaper contests several times, including once recently.
Mrs. Johnson was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.
Surviving are her sons, Ronald and Edward; her daughter, Cathy Torres; her sister, Ann Seppa, and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Arrangements include cremation.
