Carol Abbate

January 4, 1945 — July 31, 2013

Former Staten Islander Carol Ann Abbate, 68, of The Villages, Fla., a homemaker, died Wednesday in Florida Hospital in Orlando.

Born Carol Ann Cabral in Brooklyn, she graduated from Lafayette High School in her native borough. She lived in Huguenot for 30 years before moving to Florida in 2005.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Norman; her sons, Norman Jr., Joseph and Michael; her daughter, Stacy Ann Abbate Nash, and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be Monday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
