Barbara T. O'Shea

Barbara T. O'Shea, 92, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara graduated from Tottenville High School in 1950. She then continued her education at Pace University as well as Packard Business College. Barbara became an administrative assistant, first working for Socony Oil Company and then MIV-Mount Loretto, where she retired.

She was a longtime member of the South Shore Swim Club up until last year and also served on its Board of Directors. Barbara was also a longtime volunteer at the Conference House Association. She was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, where she also taught CCD.

Barbara enjoyed cooking, spending time at the beach, gardening, and sewing. She used her passion for sewing to make her daughter's wedding gown.

Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter "Dutch" O'Shea.

Barbara is survived by her loving children, Tara Yalango (John), Michael O'Shea (Debbie); cherished grandchildren, Jessica Yalango, Jodi Yalango Pirotta (Paul), Michael O'Shea (Bri Tenore), Brandon O'Shea (Deanna), Nicholas O'Shea; great-grandchildren, Steven Glogocheski, Sophia Glogocheski, Frankie Grace Pirotta; and dear sister, Lucille Winters.

Barbara enjoyed walking around town. She will be remembered fondly for the way she greeted everyone with a big, happy smile.
