Native Staten Islander Arthur Osmundsen, 83, of Richmond Valley, a retired pressman, who enjoyed spending time with his family, died Wednesday at home.
Mr. Osmundsen was born and raised in Tottenville and settled in Richmond Valley in 1952.
He was a graduate of Tottenville High School.
Mr. Osmundsen worked for 30 years as a pressman at the News Tribune and Newark Star Ledger, both in New Jersey.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
An avid baseball fan, Mr. Osmundsen's favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. He also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and spending time with family.
He was a member of the Tottenville Evangelical Free Church.
His son, Arthur, died in 2001.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Lois Corson; a son, Alan; two daughters, Lois Osmundsen and Lori Ippolito; six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Arrangements include cremation.
