Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Galligano lived in Queens from 1975 until 1980, and had lived in Tottenville since 1980.

A certified public accountant, Mr. Galligano worked for Deutsche Bank, Manhattan, for five years, retiring in 2008. An avid sports fan, Mr. Galligano was a devoted fan of the Rangers hockey team, the New York Yankees and football Giants. His favorite teams, however, were the ice hockey, softball and baseball teams his children played for.

He loved going to the games and cheering us on,' said his son, Ryan. He was a real family guy.' His son said Mr. Galligano was known for his kind words and punctuality. He never had a bad word to say about anybody,' he said. And, he was always on time - never late for anything.'
