Anthony DiDomenico, 49, of Peekskill, N.Y., a former Staten Islander, died Sunday at home.
Born in Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, L.I., Mr. DiDomenico moved with family to Westerleigh when he was 6-years old, then later on, moved to Prince's Bay.
Mr. DiDomenico had a great love for trucks, motorcycles and roller-coasters. He also enjoyed watching movies.
Mr. DiDomenico graduated from Richmondtown Preparatory School and the joined the U.S. Navy. During his service in the Navy, Mr. DiDomenico received several medals of honor. Mr. DiDomenico loved the traveling he experienced while in the service. He enjoyed Europe and found Egypt fascinating.
During his service, he participated in Operation Peace for Galilee and was stationed in Lebanon.
Mr. DiDomenico owned and operated several trucking companies, including Classic Trucking. He was employed at the Veterans Administration at the time of his death.
Mr. DiDomenico loved his family, had many friends and was remembered by many for his great sense of humor.
Surviving are his three sons, Anthony Jr., Louis and Nicholas; his mother, Janet; two brothers, Steven and Louis, and a sister, Debra.
The funeral will be Friday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, Pleasant Plains. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, also Pleasant Plains.
