Anne C. Murphy, 66, of Dongan Hills, a retired hairstylist and cook who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, died Tuesday at home.
Born Anne Granati in Brooklyn, she graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1965. She lived in Pleasant Plains for many years before settling in Dongan Hills eight years ago.
Mrs. Murphy was a hair-stylist and later worked as a short order cook at the former Butler Port of Call restaurant. She retired in 2000.
She loved arts and crafts, coloring with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing bingo, and visiting Atlantic City. She also liked to crochet.
She was preceded in death by her former husbands, Gerard Murphy and James Hayes.
Surviving are her daughters, Theresa, Patricia and Josephine Murphy, and Geraldine Collins; her brother, Joseph Granati; a sister, Phyllis Currier; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her companion, Rudy Eagle.
The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville. Arrangements, including cremation, are being handled by the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville.
