Anna was the third of six children born to Rosaria & Nicholas Galante on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. She had 2 sisters and 3 brothers whom she loved dearly and missed greatly when they passed before her. She was married for over 30 years to the love of her life Andrew who passed many years ago. Anna raised 2 children Diane Gordin and Joseph Crapanzano and was blessed to have 3 grandchildren Sabrina Giacchi, Steve Gordin, and Melissa Crapanzano, and 2 great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were what made her happiest in life. Being alive to see her last great-grandson born and named after his Great Grandfather kept her young in spirit. Time spent with her grandchildren and later in life with her great-grandchildren Gianna & Andrew were some of her happiest days. Before retiring Anna was a bookkeeper for many years for the International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots. Until her death, she kept in touch with many of her nieces and nephews who she was very fond of. Her other great passion in life was playing poker and the lottery. She played almost every day of her life and was convinced that "her system" would someday make her a millionaire. She lived on her own until very recently and was able to drive her car until the age of 92. She was a feisty independent woman who was ahead of her time her whole life. She will be missed by her family and her friends who will remember her fondly. Her last wish was to see her mother again. Hopefully, god has granted that wish.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anna's memory to Stand up to cancer, The Alzheimer's Foundation, or Autism Speaks.
