Angelo Cardinale, 76, of Tottenville, a retired bakery owner who enjoyed spending time with his family, died Thursday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.
Born in Sicily, he moved to Brooklyn in 1961 and to Tottenville in 1989.
He was the owner of the Luna Rossa Bakery in Tottenville for 50 years and retired about six years ago.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and relaxing at his beach house in Union Beach, N.J. He also enjoyed baking and visiting Atlantic City.
He was a parishioner of St. Thomas R.C. Church, Pleasant Plains.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Francesca Buzzetta; a son, Vito; two daughters, Lucrezia Russo and Maryangela Scaringella; a brother, Salvatore; two sisters, Vincenza Sciarrino and Grazia Randazzo, and nine grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
