Alice M. Williams (nee Manee), of Tottenville, died peacefully at home on Nov. 26, 2016, after a short illness.
Alice was born in Rossville, and was a lifelong Staten Island resident. She was a descendant of The French Huguenots who settled on Staten Island in 1661.
Alice worked at S. S. White's Dental Factory for 40 years. Alice raised and showed champion German Shepherd dogs. She had a special place in her heart for all animals. Alice was a Meals On Wheels volunteer. She was active in her Episcopal Church women's group at St. Stephen's Church.
Alice loved to go to yard sales and frequently held yard sales at her home to raise money for her church.
She was predeceased by her first husband, William Avezac; her second husband, Irvin Williams, and her companion, Harry Woolworth. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Clohessy of Tottenville, and her son, William Burton of Kentucky. She had eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her sister, Nancy Allen of New Jersey, also survives her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, at10 a.m. at Bedell Pizzo.
