STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Staten Island native Alice R. Corrado, 67, of Tottenville, a retired secretary, died Monday in Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton.
Born Alice Grumo in Castleton Corners, she moved to New Dorp in 1970 and to Tottenville in 1978.
She graduated from St. Joseph Hill Academy in Arrochar and the Katharine Gibbs School in Manhattan.
A homemaker, Mrs. Corrado also worked as a secretary for Link Belt, a heavy machinery company in Manhattan, and later for the Puerto Rico Maritime Line in Newark. She retired in 2007.
She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and watching cooking shows on television.
Mrs. Corrado was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.
"The world has lost a beautiful person," said her sister-in-law, Annette Runfola.
Surviving are two sons, William and George; a daughter, Alyson Tremer, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be tomorrow from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville. Arrangements include cremation.
